About
Michael
| Michael Reynolds is Chief Garden Designer and
Engineer. Without his ability to visualize and plan pathways,
plantings, borders and other aspects of the physical Animals’
Peace Garden, there would be very little admire. Nor can his
dedicated and hard labor be overlooked: the actual digging,
pruning, transplanting and planting itself of shrubs, small
trees, and perennials. |
 |
One of his finest achievements is the curved garden, a series
of raised and stepped beds which he designed with curved wood for
borders, all surrounding a white stone pathway. Just above the curved
garden is the Dogs’ Garden, fenced in as the resident dogs’
play and outside lounging area. Here, a raised border holds Carolina
Jasmine, Flowering Yucca, white Iris, and multiple containers of
pansies, petunias and other annuals.
Michael brings to the gardens a wonderful sense of order and discipline
both in his design and ongoing care of the beds, paths, and plants,
trees and shrubs. Despite the occasional nighttime visit by opossums,
raccoons, one smallish black bear and whitetail deer, the garden
flourishes and becomes more beautiful and full with each planting
season.
